Our commitment to empowering the next generation extends beyond primary and secondary education. The University Scholarship Programme is designed to help high-potential young people from the communities we serve access, adapt to, and excel in higher education.
Looking ahead, four young people from our Barika community aspire to attend university. Each student’s journey is unique, and we tailor our support to meet their specific needs. As a charity, our goal is to walk alongside them by offering:
- Financial Assistance: Helping with tuition fees, accommodation costs, or one-off purchases of essential academic equipment (like laptops or textbooks).
- Holistic Mentorship: Stepping into higher education is a massive transition. Our team provides vital personal mentoring, friendship, and practical guidance.
- Long-Term Support: We don’t just help students get into university; we provide the ongoing community and pastoral care that allows them to truly thrive and succeed.

Moving away from her family and community to live in the city was a massive life transition. Throughout this period, our local team became a vital anchor for her, offering the constant encouragement and emotional support she needed to stay focused and confident.
Realising Her Potential
She has now officially begun her undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences and continues to thrive. Today, she is achieving top marks and has grown visibly in confidence.
